Ipod Touch lack of camera
by Pierre Boisvenue. Sep 24, 2009
So September 9, 2009 Apple presentation in San Francisco is gone and past and was left disappointed by the lack of camera on the IPod Touch and its inclusion on the Nano 5g. The funny thing about the Nano 5g camera is that it’s in fact a low resolution video camera that does not take stills and that I have yet figured out how to save back the movie to my PC if at all possible. After thinking about it for a while I have the following theory about why the camera was pulled from the IPod touch and it’s not a technical issue since it is on the iPhone. My theory is this. The camera market is currently owned by Japanese manufacturers like Canon and Sony just to name a few. So basically Apple and the Japanese manufacturers could not reach a deal simple as that. Also, Apple got a bit pompous about the IPod touch being a good replacement, a superior gaming platform that the dedicated Sony PSP. Now I do own an IPod touch and looked at the Zune HD that I think may become a serious contender near term. Since I do not depend to be hooked up to the internet 24 a day the IPhone is just not for me so yes I carry a separate camera phone and the IPod Touch with me. On a side note I hope that the rumors of an IPod tablet become true.
