Mindmanager review

by Pierre Boisvenue. OCT 14, 2008

Once in a while I stumble on a piece of software that gets included in my toolkit. This tool is called Mindmanager Pro 7 by Mindjet. This tool can be used by absolutely by all that have access to a personal computer and want‘s to be organized. Is it a meeting minutes tool, a software developer tool, an auto mechanic tool a doctors tool? It is everything for everyone. Residential architects rely on a graphic plan to convey to all interested parties dimension and components of a house. Software architect uses graphical UML and ERD diagrams to represent software systems. Mindmanager uses topic diagrams to represents ideas and objects in a relational fashion in a very graphical manner. A Mindmanager graphic representation is done by means of a MAP. A MAP can be very simple or very complex. Personally I use Mindmanager and other tools for day to day activities for the study of complex systems it is like a GPS for your mind. My mind anyways can only hold so much information at any given time and a tool like this allows me to navigate ideas and processes. The tool is not a replacement for what you use already yet leverages existing tools such as the internet, word documents, diagrams just to name a few via hyperlinks. Notes can also be attached per topics.

The following diagram shows just how complex it can become. In fact a topic can link to other Mindmanager maps. Just click on the image for the full view
