Nero 7 Ultra hangs

I must say I was a bit perplexed as to why after uninstalling and reinstalling Nero 7 Ultra that it would first behave as expected but that the next day I could no longer burn a DVD movie or play an MP4 video since Nero would not respond with no error messages whatsoever and just hang required a ALT_CTL_DEL to kill the task.

After a quick Google search I found out other were experiencing similar problems and found out about a little application called Nero Scout and associated windows server service responsible for indexing and searching media with Nero called NMIndexingservice. If you are experiencing such problems like I am on windows XP SP2 I recommend that you shut down the NMIndexingservice and disabled it from control panel/administration/services.

It is unfortunate that the maker’s of Nero are sacrificing quality over quantity. The main reason I purchased Nero 7 Ultra was first to be able to burn CDs or DVDs but because of this mishap I’ve experienced along with other’s I am sure you will lose market share.
