Windows Vista and DNS

After installing Vista I noticed that my IP updater, responsible for the update of my IP address to my DNS service provider fails. Vista returns a warning message about the IP updater application not being able to update the interface. So I figure, all I need to do is search the internet for a Vista version to handle my DNS needs, but at his point in time I have not found one. Something to do with the fact that Vista’s introduction of a new TCP IP stack called ipv6 and that ipv4, the current standard, and ipv6 must somehow coexist until we are all under the new TCP/IP stack.

Also, after uninstalling DNSexit I took a different approach. I elected to set the compatibility mode as showed in Figure 1 right on the setup.exe, the program responsible for installing DNSexit and still Vista returns a warning message about the IP updater application not being able to update the interface. On a side note, however, I need to ensure than Office XP or Office 2003 behave as expected on Vista.

I did notice however than Vista is kind of sluggish with the overall user interface response to be noticeably slower that XP on my dual boot system. Vista
